A WOMAN killed in an alleged hit-and-run in Boscombe has been named locally as Fiona Welcome.

Emergency services were called to Christchurch Road at 1.10am on Saturday following a collision involving a 42-year-old woman and a white Peugeot 206.

A spokesman from the Coroner’s Office confirmed officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Fiona Welcome.

He said he was unable to release further details until the inquest has been opened.

It’s understood Ms Welcome was a former model and lived in the Boscombe area.

It’s alleged the white Peugeot, which has the registration X844 LGD, failed to stop at the scene of the crash, which happened between the junctions to Knyveton Road and Knole Road.

The vehicle was found abandoned a short time later on Boscombe Overcliff Drive.

A 25-year-old from Hertfordshire and a 23-year-old man from Bournemouth have been arrested on driving offences.

A 49-year-old from Hertfordshire has also been arrested on suspicion on perverting the course of justice.

All three men have been released on bail until the beginning of August pending further enquiries.

Police are urging anyone who saw the car in the Boscombe area on the evening of Friday, May 8, before or after the collision to come forward.

Anyone with information should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting crime number 9:23.
