LULWORTH Castle will mark the release of the new film based on Thomas Hardy's 'Far from the Madding Crowd' by celebrating its links with the famous Dorset author.
The film, directed by Danish director Thomas Vinterberg, will be screened at cinemas across the UK from May 1.
Lulworth Castle spokesman Jude Sargeant explained: "Lulworth's fascinating history, including Thomas Hardy's architectural links and the inspiration taken by the poet and writer for his most famous works, will be showcased through a series of guided tours, its website - lulworth.com/hardy - and a photographic competition."
Hardy's connections with Lulworth Castle will be celebrated throughout May.
Lulworth historian and custodian David Greenhalf will be hosting 60-minute tours, exploring Lulworth Castle, St Andrews Church and St Mary's Chapel and their connections with the famous novelist, poet and lesser known architect.
Guided tours will be held on May 10, 24 & 25, all at 12noon, and the £14 per head price includes a Dorset cream tea.
