The Borough of Poole, in partnership with the Dorset Growth Hub, is getting ready to tackle scammers, fraudsters and professional cyber criminals that prey on the public and businesses in our area.

To most SME’s cyber security is a mystery and a recent Government report showed that many would ‘not know where to start’. Cyber-crime is a serious threat to economic growth as revenues are often put at great risk.

The Economic Development team at the Borough of Poole have recognised this and have now formed a working partnership with The Dorset Growth Hub and Poole based cyber security solutions provider, C3IA.

The Growth Hub are arranging to deliver an awareness building event utilising C3IA’s industry expertise and presentation experience. The plan is to deliver the information, advice and support needed by Poole businesses from all sectors.

The half day event will take place at the landmark RNLI College on the morning of the 24th of April from 9 a.m. It is free to attend if you run or own a business within the borough.

The good news is that all attendees will qualify for a free cyber security health check at their own place of business. This will be carried out by a member of C3IA’s security team. Better news still, those firms needing a retrospective bolstering up of their cyber security may also qualify for full or partial funding from the Borough of Poole to engage C3IA for any risk reduction work required.

Poole based companies can book a place for the event by calling Tony Latham at The Dorset Growth Hub on 08454 586480.
