A FALLEN tree led to the closure of a road in Three Legged Cross at around 8.20am this morning, March 25.
The 30-foot high oak tree in Church Road fell across a neighbouring garage, crossing an overhead power cable, but a team of specialists were able to remove it without disrupting the power supply to nearby properties.
Local resident David Shelton said: "The guys who were carrying out the removal work said there was a lot of scarring at the right height on the trunk to suggest it was brought down by a passing HGV or something similar."
The road was closed to traffic while the fallen tree was removed. The fall caused minimal damage to the garage and a perimeter wall.
