FIREFIGHTERS were called after four bins and a skip were set alight in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The arson attacks took place in Manor Road, Boscombe Spa Road and Wharncliffe Road in Bournemouth.

Fire crews from Springbourne and Westbourne dealt with the incidents, between 2-4am, extinguishing each for with hose reel jets.

Dorset Police also attended the scene.

Cllr Chris Wakefield said: “This is disturbing news and we are really concerned that there is an active arsonist targeting specific areas in Boscombe.

“I am just fearful for people's safety while there is somebody doing this who is completely unconcerned about the potential for killing somebody.

“Don't people realise the harm they are doing and the threat for loss of life?

“This is an attack on our close knit community - we need to find whoever is doing this quickly and I would urge anybody with information to contact the police.”

A Dorset Police spokesperson confirmed the force is investigating the fires and anybody with information should contact 101, quoting incident number 19:23.
