POLICE are appealing for witnesses following two burglaries near Blandford Forum.

The first burglary took place at some point between 9am and 2pm on Thursday, February 5, when thieves smashed a window of a house in Tarrant Hinton. Offenders ransacked the property and stole a quantity of cash.

The second incident occurred between 10-10.25am the following day, when thieves forced a window to gain access to a bungalow in Tarrant Gunville. The offenders searched the property but nothing was taken.

Police Constable Shane Hewitt, of Blandford police, said: “Witnesses have reported seeing a black vehicle with two men inside leaving the driveway of the property in Tarrant Hinton at around 1pm on Thursday, February 5, and I am keen to hear from anyone who saw a similar vehicle in the Tarrant Hinton area.

“As always, residents are urged to ensure they keep their windows and doors locked and secured.”
