A MOTORIST has caught the moment a slurry trailer overturned at a roundabout earlier this morning.

The incident happened shortly before 7am this morning at the Stinsford roundabout on the A35 in Dorchester when a tractor pulling slurry trailer was involved in a single vehicle collision.

The footage was captured on the dashboard camera of Brian Keane who was waiting at the roundabout during his morning commute.

It shows the tractor coming from the right hand side and as it tries to go round the roundabout, the trailer overturns causing the tractor to bounce up.

Mr Keane said: “I put that dashboard camera in there because I had to save a man from a collision a few years ago and I thought if it happened again, there should be a video recollection.

“I never expected anything like this to happen though, I was on my way to work and it happened.

“The driver was lucky really that the tractor didn’t overturn because it did come round quite quickly.”

Emergency services rushed to the scene but it is believed nobody was injured in the collision, and the road was partially blocked causing traffic tailbacks around the area.

It is understood the trailer was transporting 1200 litres of fertiliser, and it needed to be emptied before the trailer could be recovered.

The road was reopened at 8.55am, but temporarily closed again just before 11am for the recovery of the tractor and trailer.
