FIREFIGHTERS were called early this morning after a suspected arson attack.
Crews from Hamworthy and Poole were sent out to Fitzworth Avenue, Turlin Moor, at 2.05am and found a double garage and a van on fire.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put out the flames.
A spokesman for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said: "Due to the roof of the garage containing asbestos all residents in the area were told to keep their windows and doors closed.
"It is believed the fire was started deliberately and the police are involved."
A police spokesman said that officers were called at 2.08am and were investigating the fire.
