TWENTY-FOUR GP practices in Dorset have made the switch to the NHS Electronic Prescription Service.
They can now send prescriptions directly to pharmacies without paper slips, speeding up the process and saving time for patients.
A new option is the NHS Repeat Prescription Service from PharmacyU2 which allows people to order by phone, online or mobile app, and then have medication delivered free to their home or workplace.
Pharmacist Dr Julian Harrison, Director at Pharmacy2U, said: “The move to e-prescriptions makes the process quicker and easier and is giving patients a lot more choice.”
There are currently five surgeries in Poole offering the service, which will later be rolled out across England.
