Have you got what it takes to be crowned Dorset’s fittest man or woman? Well now is your chance to find out.

For the Echo has joined forces with three local fitness business owners to find the fittest man and woman in the county.

They are: Alex Chisnall, owner of the Body Clinics at both the Littledown Centre and Sandbanks Yacht Company, along with Not In The Gym Fitness Camps; James Rufus, founder of 180 degrees gym at Sandbanks Yacht Company, and his wife Sofia who runs Studio 34 in Sandbanks.

If you’ve managed a marathon, tried a triathlon and feel the need for a physical challenge in 2015, then try the Dorset Fit Test on May 30.

The inaugural competition consists of ten different disciplines to test each competitor’s cardiovascular and muscular endurance, as well as their strength, skill, power, speed and co-ordination.

The event will start and finish at the 180 Degree Health Club based at the Sandbanks Yacht Company in Poole but will take in the whole of the natural landscape that Sandbanks offers.

Some of Dorset’s fittest men and women, including world champion power lifters, world class racers, professional footballers and county rugby players will take part in this test of ultimate fitness.

Co-organiser Alex Chisnall of The Bournemouth Body Clinic and Not In The Gym Fitness Camps said: “This will be a true test of cardiovascular and muscular endurance, strength, skill, power speed and co-ordination.”

The event will also be an opportunity to raise some vital funds for two very worthy causes.

James Rufus adds: “We are hoping to raise as much money as possible for the RNLI and Help for Heroes in the process of finding the county’s fittest male and female.”

The challenge includes 200m of stand up paddle boarding, 24 box step ups, 20 pull-ups, 100 squat thrusts, 40 bench presses, 1km uphill run, squats, sit-ups and a 200m row.

So whether you’re a gym junkie, paddle boarder, runner, cyclist, watersports enthusiast or just love sport, then now is your chance to find out if you’ve got what it takes to be Dorset’s Fittest.
