THE homeless community of Poole have received their own wash kits thanks to donations from an accountancy firm.

Princecroft Willis (PcW), which celebrated its centenary this year, has donated 100 sets containing a hand towel, comb, roll-on deodorant, soap, toothpaste and a toothbrush, to Routes to Roots (R2R).

Neil Robertson, R2R’s Projects Coordinator, said: “This is a very generous gesture and we’re very grateful to Princecroft Willis.

“The wash kits contain all the items many consider as essentials, but to our clients are regarded as luxuries.”

It is just the latest initiative offered by Princecroft Willis, which has an office in Parkstone Road, to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Other ideas have included raising more than £21,000 for the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation and donating 100 pints of blood to the National Blood Service.

Nick Love, PcW’s charity director, said: “We’ve had a fantastic year, raising many thousands of pounds for good causes and also demonstrating our strong community links.

“Routes to Roots sums up what Christmas should be all about by helping those who are not able to enjoy the festive season with a permanent roof over their head.

“We’re pleased to play our small part in making their Christmas a little easier.”
