FINAL preparations are under way for this year’s eagerly anticipated Wimborne Literary Festival.
War correspondent and broadcaster Kate Adie, 60s model and ex-wife of drummer Mick Fleetwood Dr Jenny Boyd, comedian Mitch Benn and bestselling author Ben Aaronovitch are just some of the big names due to feature in this year’s event, which starts at the weekend.
Known by the acronym WiLF, the festival is set to take place in venues around the town including the atmospheric Old School in Manswood.
A variety of daytime and evening events and activities have been planned between Saturday, November 1, and Sunday, November 9.
Further events will also be taking place on Thursday, November 20.
Festival organiser, Malcolm Angel, said: “This year’s packed programme is typically diverse and far ranging with distinguished authors, writing and poetry workshops, outstanding performance poetry, and a David and Goliath true tale of adventure and enterprise in a far off land all on the bill.”
He added: “We see the return of last year’s sell-out inaugural Natural History Day, plus a new Children’s Saturday fun day, with interactive master-classes by internationally acclaimed Horrible History and Horrible Science illustrators.”
