A MAN escaped injury after becoming trapped under a fallen tree this morning in an area near Sturminster Newton and Shaftesbury.
Firefighters from Dorset Fire and Rescue Service were contacted at 11.30am with reports of the incident in the Margaret Marsh area.
On arrival, crews used heavy duty inflatable airbags and cutting equipment to lift the tree and pull the man out to safety, by around 1pm.
The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance was also called to the scene, but after checking the man over, ambulance staff deemed that it was not necessary to take him to hospital.
