Vivien Sheriff, is recognised as the Official Milliner for Glorious Goodwood 2014, but recently, she has been making quite a blast away from the racecourse and out on the motor circuit at this year’s Goodwood Revival.

Vintage fashions and textiles have always been close to the Vivien’s heart and have influenced many of the designs conceived and produced at her Wiltshire based studio. So, when Vivien Sheriff was asked to showcase the brand’s 1960s inspired headwear designs at the recent Goodwood Revival, she keenly accepted the invitation, without hesitation.

Members of the Vivien Sheriff creative team were tasked with the challenge of sourcing authentic 1960s clothing and accessories to complement Vivien Sheriff vintage re-visited headpieces and hair adornments. Through a combination of eagle eyed searching at retro clothes shops, pilfering grand-mothers’ wardrobes and borrowed family heirlooms, the team pulled together their 1960s styles.

The marvellous ‘Betty’s’ (Revival’s own Hair & Beauty Salon) was called upon to perfect the 1960s looks with expert makeovers for the era.  With finishing touches complete, it was over to the Freddie March Spirit of Aviation exhibition at Revival for a photo shoot with the star attraction - Pussy Galore’s helicopter in celebration of the 50th anniversary of what is perhaps the definitive Bond film ‘Goldfinger’.

Vivien Sheriff expressed said: “We’ve had many vintage moments showcasing our hats with iconic aircraft as well as with exceptional classic cars. The racing and pageantry on what is the world’s most historic authentic motor circuit has been absolutely thrilling. And, it was quite amazing to see the competitors sporting 1940s, 50s and 60s looks who were selected for Best-Dressed. I really admire the attention to detail in every aspect of their clothing and appearance, which is quite astounding. The Goodwood Revival will always be a treasured highlight in our calendar.”
