The A35 was shut in both directions near Slepe as emergency services dealt with a single-vehicle crash this morning.

A black Peugeot 206, registered to a local keeper, was involved in the collision near the Organford crossroads.

Police closed the road at its junctions with the Baker's Arms roundabout, the Organford Crossroads and Morden Park corner due to an oil spillage and the recovery of the vehicle.

The female driver was uninjured, although an ambulance attended. The accident occurred at 7.50am and the road was re-opened at 9.17am.

Accidents happen and people aren't infallible. That is why cars have safety features.
Glad the driver was okay which is the main thing.

May I humbly suggest a 40 mph speed limit (and Gatsos) along that dangerous stretch? And lights on?

Several more minutes commuting time will not affect people as much as these innumerable accidents.

I think the poster was referring to the use of "collision" the Echo use it a lot when they should use a different word based on the OLD definition of collision. The "improper" use of collision probably stems from accidents not being called Road Traffic Accident but Road Traffic Collision.

Either way someone had an accident and thankfully escaped with their life. Way too many deaths on our roads.
