A CAR with a lost wheel is causing delays on the A338 Spur Road.

The silver Vauxhall Astra shed the wheel after a collision with the central reservation on the northbound carriageway near Blackwater junction around 12.30pm today.

It is understood the driver may have had a medical episode.

Police and ambulance are on the scene and the police have started a rolling roadblock to divert traffic around the debris.

The other vehicle involved was a Toyota Yaris.

The car has been moved off the carriageway.

Recovery is being arranged with one lane currently closed.

The local authority has been called to repair the barrier.

More unfit drivers on our roads, like runaway cows aren't enough.
Glad I now walk to work.

Before I moan hope those involved are ok however

Come on ECHO
Very miss leading headline, when I first read it I thought a motorist was driving along the spur road and all of a sudden a wheel came off the vehicle but no it was a collision between 2 vehicles and the wheel came off as a result of the impact with the central reservation ,therefore surely the headline should read delays on a338 as a result of a collision ,
