A PEDESTRIAN has been left with serious injuries after a collision with a car near Pokesdown Station.

The emergency services were sent to the scene on the A35 Christchurch Road, at the traffic lights on the junction with Seabourne Road.

Dorset Police closed the road between Kwik Fit and the railway station.

As a result of the closure, Yellow Buses services 1a, 1b, 1c, 2, 2a and 2b were being diverted, but the road has now reopened.

A police spokesman said officers were called 3.06pm after the collision between the pedestrian and a blue Ford Streetka, registered to a Bournemouth man.

The spokesman added that the pedestrian, a woman, had been taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

Hope the person gets well soon.

Classic Echo reporting. This accident was not at the lights with Seabourne Road. It was between Queensland Road and Parkwood Road. Giving the incorrect location doesn't help people reroute.

Great journalistic skills as usual . Accident was actually outside Post Office at 836 Christchurch Road. Road was closed from Parkwood road to Queensland road (Kwik fit) no where near Station or any traffic lights !!!

Still you at least got something right it was a lady involved in a collision with a Ford StreetKa.

Hope the lady is recovering well AND that the guy is ok as he really couldn't avoid her as she walked out from behind a parked Luton van and wouldn't have been seen till the last second.
