All Saints Dramatic Society is busy preparing for its latest production and recruiting new members at the same time.
The Southbourne-based Society, now in its 65th year, will be putting on comedy Canvas at the De La Salle Theatre at St Peter’s School from September 18-20.
The popular organisation was founded in 1950 by Rev Clifford Davies in the All Saints church hall and its first production was The Whole Town’s Talking.
The Society also boasts a choir which performs and competes in the local area.
Over the years the Society has gained a reputation for high-quality, entertaining shows and is now based at the De La Salle, a 475-set tiered auditorium in the St Catherine’s Road school.
The Society’s popular pantomimes are performed in January with two plays in April and September and a patrons-only one act night in June.
Rehearsals are held on Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings and members are keen to recruit backstage volunteers as well as performers.
Anyone over 16 is welcome to apply and those accepted pay an annual fee of £25; £15 for students. Those interested should go to allsaintsdramaticsociety.com n Tickets for Canvas can be bought by calling the box office on 07548 100770.
