3) Roller Coast Roller Rink

Situated in the BIC Solent Hall with great views of Dorset's coastline, Roller Coast is a fun and healthy activity, perfect for kids and adults alike.

Under 4's aren't allowed in and under 12's must be accompanied by an adult on the rink.

Standard sessions are two hours long, running from 12pm - 10pm. The price (£4.50-£5.50 per person) includes skate hire.

The Dinosaur museum in Dorchester is an original and award-winning attraction offering dinosaur hunts, in which kids can follow the clues to seek out answers to the prehistoric mystery.

5) Brownsea Island Summer Trail

50 things for kids to do before they're 11 ¾.

Tick off as many things as you can with special activity stations all over the island.

Available daily throughout the summer holidays.

6) Rock Pool School

Learn about barnacles, anenomies, seaweed, crabs and more with the Lulworth Rangers.

Happening on sunny days, including Monday, during the school holidays.

Times are dependent on tide. £1 per child with a supervising adult (free).

7) World War One Commemoration Events

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the declaration of the First World War, The Tank Museum is holding an event involving mock battles, cavalry displays, living history, talks and tours.

Tracked vehicle rides will be going on from 10am - 2.45pm.

Activities for children include medal decoration, writing war poetry and painting wooden tanks. Family admission costs £28, and the entry fee includes an annual pass that enables you to return to the Tank Museum as many times as you like - for a year.
