A NEW arts event launches tomorrow in Bournemouth. Summer Live - Bournemouth Square is a programme of art and live music for the town centre.
Running until mid August, Bournemouth Square will have free entertainment between 5pm and 9pm from Tuesdays to Saturdays.
Acoustic music includes performances from Graham Seaton, Karl Lattimer and Charlie Woodford plus choirs and brass bands. Live art demonstrations will be hosted by Mirek J Lucan of LucanArt and other creative showcases have been scheduled weather depending. Another feature is spoken word with award winning poet Steve Biddle presenting Poetry Corner on Wednesday, August 20 from 7pm.
Event co-ordinator, Dan Holbeche says: "Bournemouth Square will be coming to life with music and a showcase of artists. This is a great opportunity to discover local talent and enjoy the summer. Hoping for good weather, activities begin at 5pm and all ages are welcome."
A ribbon will be cut by Cllr Dave Smith to open the events on Tuesday at 5.15pm with musical performances thanks to the Funky Little Choir Company, singer songwriter E-J Evans and emerging band The Arkades.
