POLICE are hunting a raider who attempted to rob the One Stop in Pokesdown.
Detectives are asking for anyone with information to come forward following the incident, which took place at 9.20pm on Friday, May 2 at the store in Seabourne Road.
Information has only just been released by police about this incident.
An image of the suspect has also been released.
During the incident, a man entered the shop and waited at the counter.
A female member of staff then approached him and he demanded that she open the till.
When she refused, she was threatened by the would-be robber before he left the store.
No weapon was seen.
The suspect is described as white, in his mid-twenties, of medium build, with fair hair, facial stubble and disfigured teeth.
He was wearing a dark grey hooded top with white horizontal strips, a red T-shirt, black trainers and black and red shorts with an emblem at the bottom of the right leg.
Detective Constable Laurence Ainley, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Fortunately nothing was taken, however, this was a very unpleasant incident for shop staff to experience.
“Following enquiries I am now able to release a CCTV image of the suspect.
“I encourage anyone who recognises him to contact me as soon as possible.
“All calls are treated in the strictest confidence.”
