A DRIVER was taken to hospital following the accident on Holes Bay Road during this morning's rush-hour.

The woman, who was driving a grey Renault Megane car, sustained minor injuries during the accident, which involved a lorry close to the Holes Bay roundabout.

Firefighters and paramedics attended the scene around 8am. The road was fully reopened by 8.30am.

However, many motorists were caught up in lengthy queues while emergency services dealt with the incident.

If only Fire Crews & an ambulance were called to the crash - -why have the Echo uploaded a Police logo?

Is that the roundabout by Safety Drive where the council want to have a queue of travellers waiting to go into the Marshes End site?

Yep it is. Looks like this morning the truck was in the left land and went right and took out car on inside lane going straight on.

If this is the roundabout I think it is (one by the Fire Station) and judging by the picture it is...

There are 3 lanes as you come onto that roundabout (from Upton).

Left = Straight on only
Middle = Straight on and right
Right = Right/all the way around

Many many times I have seen cars in the right hand lane attempt the go straight on with a car in the middle lane turning right...

On one occasion I actually saw a car get taken out by a car attempting to go straight on just like this... right in front of me and smash into the central reservation.

Driving standards are so poor! How many road markings and signs are needed?

No different to the Mannings Heath roundabout, Left lane to Tower Park, Middle lane Upton, right lane Canford Heath, its not that difficult and yet people still approach the roundabout in the left lane and cut across the chevrons and go straight on or worse, cut across you to Canford Heath. Its always been bad but theres nothing wrong with the road layout, its just the idiots who can't read!

Not forgetting Bear Cross, Ringwood Road, northbound... Left lane = Left/Straight on, Right lane = Right turn only. Clearly marked on the road and on the signs. If you drive a white van or a BMW, you can ignore that and just go straight on from the right hand lane. The gene pool is so sadly depleted around these parts that they seem to have lost the will to live.
