ROADWORKS intended to make a Boscombe junction safer for cyclists and pedestrians are due to begin today.
The works at the junction of St John’s Road and Christchurch Road, expected to last for 12 weeks, will see traffic signals upgraded, new pedestrian crossings and cycle lanes, resurfacing, and improved bus stops.
Also planned are a new zebra crossing north of Wharncliffe Road, a reduction of double yellow lines in Hamilton Road and a move of parking spaces from Christchurch Road to Drummond Road and Wharncliffe Road.
The works will use temporary traffic signals and the closure of the western end of The Crescent.
