AN IMAGE showing what the police box at Boscombe precinct will look like has been released.
The two-tonne Tardis-style building, designed by architect James Roberts of Anders Roberts and Associates, will be manned by police officers and PCSOs during daytime hours when it opens in late spring.
Based on the original 1929 design, which became iconic as Dr Who’s time machine, the eye-catching structure is being built by AMK Industries in Christchurch and has been funded by businesses.
Police say they hope it will help them tackle crime and increase their presence on the streets, as well as attract more families and tourists to visit the area.
