A contestant from The Voice UK, Si Genaro, visited Nerve Radio at Bournemouth University on Thursday 13th February, after doing some recording in the universities renowned Media School.

With a guitar in one hand and a harmonica in the other, he wowed the Nerve Radio hosts with his freestyle beat box, picking out things he could see in the radio studio.

Although he didn't have the chance to pick a judge on The Voice UK, his single Chicken Train has been extremely popular on YouTube. Si, 42, said, when asked which judge he would have picked, “All logic would dictate that someone in my position should have chosen Tom Jones or possibly will.i.am, because of his production values… but really I would have had to have chosen Kylie.”

He is currently producing his fourth single and says, “we are half way through it and we are really pleased with it”, and goes on to add, “it’s got a really massive vocal on it, and it’s not a novelty song it’s a proper serious, good song.”

He is currently trying to get Chicken Train to go viral and says his plans for 2014 are to “just keep moving, just keep pushing it and get out there doing gigs.”

His presence on the stage often involves a lot of movement to which he said, “I followed a few energetic principles when I was younger that have helped me retain my energy.”

Si filmed his new video for Chicken Train earlier in the week, with the backdrop of Bournemouth beach and use of the Bournemouth Land Train.
