AN ELDERLY woman was cut free from her car following a two-vehicle crash in Charminster this afternoon.
The Bournemouth woman, thought to be aged 79, was driving a red Vauxhall Agila, which collided with a stationary white Ford escort van in Alma Road at around 1.50pm.
The red car turned onto its side following the crash, and although the driver was taken to hospital, it is not thought that she was badly injured.
The road was closed between Heron Court Road and Charminster Road for more than an hour while recovery vehicles and police cleared the scene.
Dorset Fire and Rescue tweeted: "Alma Rd update. Crews stabilised vehicle and extricated one lady through rear hatchback door by removing part of the seat."
The road has now reopened.
