FOOTAGE capturing the full-scale of the floods at Stony Lane in Christchurch has been filmed by a drone.

Reader Dan Bailey sent in this footage of the flooded meadows using a Radio Controlled Phantom Quad with GoPro and Fatshark FPV gear.

The road is still to be officially reopened, with Travel Dorset tweeting this evening that they will be revisiting the area tomorrow to do a check.

makes me want a drone now, shame they cost a fortune. would be far better than images of floods to see the scale of damage without chartering a helicopter every time.

hi you are correct Greg,not without permission from atc (Air traffic control) .As its well within bournemouth band D airspace .Approx 8km in every direction of bournemouth airport.As this Is classed as a suav (small unmanned aerial vehicle).As it flies and has a camera on board! http://www.caa.co.uk

This is a SUAV small unmanned aerial vehicle.As it flies and has a camera.It is flying well within bournemouth Band D airspace without permission from ATC. As there is no NOTAM log of this. Read here http://www.caa.co.uk
