HELP two local bands reach the top 40 this Christmas to raise funds for the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation.
Black Water County and Walk the Night have teamed up to record a version of Fairytale of New York by the Pogues with Kirsty McColl.
And they are hoping to reach the official charts by selling 3,000 downloads for the cause.
Linda Thornton of the JTYAF said: “They are a fantastic bunch of local young people and we can't thank them enough for the huge amount of effort that has gone into producing this single – and it's all for charity!”
The single was released earlier this month, and has been played on BBC Radio Solent.
An official video uploaded to Youtube has already had more than 4,000 views.
