Morebus Driver Robbie Bartle has been honoured by Bournemouth University’s Students’ Union with their annual ‘You’re Brilliant’ award. The awards are usually nominated to staff working within the university so Robbie, from Canford Heath, was delighted that his personality and customer service skills were appreciated by passengers using the University’s dedicated bus network.

Robbie, who joined Wilts & Dorset in 1998, following his bus driver father John Bartle into the industry, said that he was very proud and honoured by the presentation: “I love bus driving and appreciate the great response I get from students when they catch the bus.”

Students and frequent passengers Amanda Wong and Shoned Jones said that they also think Robbie is Brilliant: “He really deserves the award. He is always happy and polite any time of the day.”

Amanda Williams, BU environment & energy manager, said: “It’s great that Robbie’s hard work and excellent approach to customer service have been recognised by this award. Robbie is always so professional and good humoured and offers such an excellent first impression to anyone travelling on the bus for BU.”

Robbie has also become the latest monthly morebus hero.

Operations manager Adam Keen and marketing & communications manager Nikki Honer presented Robbie with his Hero certificate and £50 worth of gift vouchers following commendations from his passengers.
