A YOUNG child and adult have been taken to Poole Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries following a two car collision on a busy road outside Wimborne.
Wimborne Road West has been closed both ways following the collision which occured just before 5pm near the Old Thatch pub.
The road is closed at the junction of Uddens Drive and traffic is being diverted back onto the A31 via the Ferndown Industrial Estate.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “I can confirm there was a two car collision with injuries at 5pm on Wimborne Road West."
A spokesperson from South Western Ambulance service said: "Two patients, an adult and a child have been taken to Poole Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries."
The cars involed were a black Alpha Romeo and a black Ford Mondeo both resigstered to Dorset keepers.
