BOSCOMBE residents have been invited to a special event next week being held to mark the progress made over the last year in the Backing Boscombe campaign.

The Today, Tomorrow and Beyond event at the Royal Arcade on Wednesday, November 27, will include displays on the work done to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the area and improving housing and neighbourhoods.

Visitors can also get advice and information from the emergency services and the Boscombe Independent Advice Centre, receive a free health check, and learn about plans to improve the precinct and a new project to help start-up businesses.

Local councillor Jane Kelly, cabinet member for partnership and regeneration, said: “We’ve achieved many successes so far but we also acknowledge that there is still much more that we need to do and I am confident that with the commitment of all partners involved, we will continue to make great strides building on the success of this year’s work.”

She added: “I would like to encourage residents, visitors and businesses to pop in next Wednesday to find out more about the work that’s going on in Boscombe and to provide feedback on how we can improve things further.”

The event will run from 10am to 4pm.

All are welcome.
