TATTOO enthusiasts are set to descend upon Wimborne this December for a one-off convention featuring the best artists in the UK.

And with a festive fair that’s more Nightmare Before Christmas than The Snowman, there will be something for all to enjoy.

Kerry and Carl Collinson, pictured, of Urban Image in Kinson launched the Jurassic Coast Tattoo Convention last year. It was so popular, it will return for a second time on December 14 and 15 at the Allendale Centre.

Mrs Collinson said: “We’ve got about 50 tattooists from all over the country coming along “We actually ran out of tattoo booths after just six days because of the interest. It’s the largest Christmas tattoo convention in the UK, so we’re very proud.”

The event is now so popular the couple are renting neighbouring Allendale House for an alternative Christmas market featuring custom painted dolls, taxidermy and shrunken heads.

“We’re hoping lots of people come along, as the fair is free, although it will cost £7.50 for the convention,” said Mrs Collinson, who has been running her business for 13 years.

“It’s very family-friendly – children under 10 will be able to get in for free. We’re going to have prizes for the best dinosaur dress-up during the weekend.”

She added: “We won’t have any live music – it’s distracting. It’s going to be a traditional convention.”

A quarter of the money raised through ticket sales will be donated to the Allendale Centre. For more details visit Jurassiccoast tattooconvention.co.uk
