AN elderly woman was medically trapped in a car after a single-vehicle crash near East Orchard, north of Sturminster Newton this evening.
Two fire engines attended the scene at 6.45pm and using hydraulic cutting equipment removed the roof of the car to get the woman out.
Paramedics from the South Western Ambulance Service then took the woman, who was a passenger in a black Seat Ibiza car, to Yeovil Hospital. The woman received minor injuries. The fire service left the area at 7.53pm.
