A POOLE hospice is on target to break its own fundraising record at Luscombe Valley Railway following another successful weekend.
Hundreds of people braved the change in weather to visit the popular local attraction and helped raise more than £2,500 for Lewis-Manning Hospice. Now the charity is firmly on target to smash the £10,000 it achieved in 2010.
Run by Richard and Connie Knott, Luscombe Valley Railway nominated the hospice as its charity for 2013, having supported it three years previously. The couple opened up their garden railway to the public three times this year and will finish off with a Humbug Day finale on December 21, with the chance to meet Father Christmas.
“We just want to thank everyone who braved the elements to visit the railway and support Lewis-Manning Hospice,” said Paul Tucker, marketing and communications manager.
“The generosity of Richard and Connie Knott has also been incredible.”
