GET ready for one last blast of summer as temperatures are set to reach 25C on Thursday.
The meteorological autumn may have started when we entered September, but thanks to a surge of hot air from the Continent, the mercury is set to rise.
Some parts of the UK will reach 30C today and tomorrow, making it the warmest September days for seven years.
Make the most of it, however, as the weather is expected to take a turn for the worse later this week as temperatures are set to drop to 16C on Friday, with heavy showers forecast for some.
The Met Office has issued a yellow ‘be aware’ warning for South West England, which covers parts of Dorset, for rain on Friday and Saturday.
The warning, which is valid from 12.05am on Friday morning until 11.59pm on Saturday, reads: “Periods of heavy and persistent rain are likely to affect parts of England and Wales during Friday and Saturday.
“The public should be aware that there is a risk of localised disruption due to flooding.
