PUPILS from two schools in Poole have donated their old uniforms to be sent off to children in Africa.

Both Stanley Green First School, and Courthill School have changed over their uniforms ahead of each of the two school’s move to become an Infant School in September.

All 354 sets of clothing from kids at Stanley Green First School will be going over to young people in the Gambia, as well as the entire contents of their computer suite, says head teacher, Angela Malanczuk.

She said: “The school have changed their signs ready for the changeover to us becoming an infant school, and with that, we also have new uniforms, as well as 20 computers, tables and chairs.

Over at Courthill School, the children handed over their old yellow uniforms to go to children in Africa, ahead of their new blue replacements, which will come into force from September.

Ellen Humphreys, head teacher, said: “It was one of our parents, Lucy Garland’s idea to donate the uniforms.”
