JUDGES from South and South East England in Bloom will be taken on a 25-mile trip around Bournemouth.

The judges are in town tomorrow to assess the town’s efforts on the environment.

They will be welcomed by the mayor before a tour ranging from Alum Chine to Hengistbury Head, taking in a number of stops en route including Charminster, Linwood School, Fisherman’s Walk, Boscombe and Bournemouth Gardens.

The competition involves hundreds of communities each year and participating towns create lasting improvements to their environments.

Chris Evans, Bournemouth council’s nursery manager, said: “I know everyone has been looking forward to the judge’s visit and being able to show them all the hard work that has been done.

"The wide range of fantastic floral displays and hanging baskets not only look wonderful but most certainly have had a positive impact on the town’s sense of place, community spirit and pride.”

Judges from Bournemouth in Bloom will be in town on July 29.
