Finally, the saga of Reece James’ killing is over, bar the sentencing which happens today.
The four defendants were charged with (and denied) murder, but were found guilty of manslaughter.
The response of the authorities in the wake of the killing was extensive and detailed, as it had to be.
The community needed reassuring that that this shocking crime was a one-off. So far it has proved to be so.
Confidence has largely been restored but all the agencies know that while much has been done, there is plenty still to do.
