A MAN has been arrested after a 33-year-old woman was raped in Lansdowne Road in the middle of the afternoon last month.
The serious sexual assault took place in a secluded area of wasteland behind the Nuffield Car Park on Sunday, May 19, between 4-4.30pm, and police have launched an appeal for witnesses to contact them.
Inspector Becky Riggs, of Bournemouth CID, said: “A 34-year-old Bournemouth man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and is helping officers with their enquiries.
“He was also arrested in connection with sexual offences in Bournemouth in 2011.”
