THERE will be face painting, puppets, walks, wildlife and much more to enjoy on Brownsea Island in two action packed days of family fun.

The Poole Harbour island will be hosting Dorset Wildlife Trust’s popular Wild About event on June 15 and 16 from 10am to 5pm.

A free wildlife roadshow, it is an opportunity to learn what the island has to offer, in a joint venture with the National Trust as part of the 50th year anniversary celebrations.

Wildlife walks will take place throughout the weekend, with red squirrels to spot and bird hides to explore.

Chris Thain, reserve manager at the DWT nature reserve on the island, said: “The aim of this event is to showcase how rich Poole Harbour is and the essential role that Brownsea Island has to play for wildlife.”
