Jessica Ennis is wanted for 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

BBC bosses are keen for the 27-year-old star - who won a heptathlon gold medal at London 2012 - to appear on the new series of the show, and while the brunette beauty is keen to follow in the footsteps of fellow Olympian Louis Smith on the programme, she is fearful of being "rubbish".

She said: "I'm a big fan of 'Strictly' and I thought Louis did amazingly well.

"I'd love to do it but think when it came to dancing live on TV I'd be terrified and probably rubbish.

"I like to believe I've got some sort of rhythm but I think learning a completely new set of skills and doing the dances would be incredibly difficult and a real challenge but it would be one I'd enjoy."

Despite being keen to look good on the dance floor, Jessica admits the only concrete plans she has in place at the moment are training for this year's World Championships in Moscow and the next Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

She added to The Sun newspaper: "I don't really have any solid plans at the moment other than preparing for the World Championships later this year then defending my title in Rio in 2016."
