A BUNGLING burglar who was caught on camera stealing the till from a Bournemouth beauty salon has been jailed for three-and-a-half years.

Bournemouth Crown Court heard how Paul Kerrison and a male accomplice had been filmed entering the Joanna Unisex salon on St Michael’s Road on October 3 last year and helping themselves to the till.

They made their escape in a stolen Vauxhall Cavalier which was later spotted by police.

Kerrison was arrested and items from a Volvo 340, stolen earlier from Alum Chine Road, were found in the Cavalier.

Kerrison, 28, from Bourne-mouth, also broke into premises on Alumhurst Road, Westbourne, between September 30 and October 1 last year and fled with a 50-inch flat-screen television, laptop and a bicycle.

After being linked to the car thefts and burglaries, Kerrison was charged with a string of offences including commercial and dwelling house burglary, driving while disqualified, being carried in a stolen vehicle and having no insurance.

He pleaded guilty and was jailed for 42 months. DC Adam Woolman from Dorset Police Priority Crime Team said: “Kerrison committed several offences of burglary and theft and was arrested after excellent work by uniformed officers.

“Thorough forensic work proved his involvement in these crimes which resulted in him pleading guilty at court.

“Kerrison’s lengthy sentence reflects the seriousness of the crimes and demonstrates that these offences will not be tolerated.”
