THE final man linked with a bank robbery in Wallisdown at the end of last year has been released without charge.

It means that the trail appears to have gone cold over the raid at Barclays in Bryant Road on December 6.

Police have confirmed that no further action is being taken against a 34-year-old man from Bournemouth, who was arrested in the days following the attack, alongside two other men.

Earlier this year, police released without charge a 40-year-old man from New Milton and a 39-year-old man from Bournemouth who had both been arrested and questioned over the incident.

A spokesman told the Daily Echo that enquiries into the robbery were ongoing.

Staff and customers were in the bank when the robbery took place at around 1.15pm on Thursday, December 6, 2012.

A man queued with customers before approaching the cashier and demanding cash, as well as making threats to harm members of the public in the branch.

Detectives released a CCTV image of a man they wanted to speak to afterwards.

Nobody was injured, but multiple police cars were sent to the scene and the police helicopter was in the sky as the area was searched.

At the time, one customer who was in the bank at the time told the Echo that the male robber had a scarf covering his face and that another person who was in the bank told her that he had a gun.

She said he left with cash in a clear bag and she saw him run off.
