POLICE are hunting a man who fled after attempting to steal material from the roof of a Bournemouth bank.
Officers were called to Barclays Bank on Bryanstone Road in Winton at 1am on Friday morning.
As they arrived, the offender made off on foot and police found a large quantity of lead had been removed from the roof and placed on the ground.
A large search involving the police helicopter took place but the man was not found.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said he was wearing a hooded top.
No-one has been arrested.
Witnesses are asked to contact Dorset Police on 101 quoting incident number 19:10.
