Hope 2 Cycle will be riding into Bournemouth University offering a Bike Doctor Service which will give free safety checks and restore damaged bikes to full health.

The service will provide free small bike repairs and free labour for larger repairs which will be carried out by Hope 2 Cycle's trained volunteers and staff.

The workshop comes as cycling takes centre stage in local news, with Bournemouth being named the third worst place for bike casualties in England.

Gary Cure, project lead at Hope 2 Cycle said, “From our work to date we have seen lots of students riding unsafe bikes which were bought cheaply but in the longer run will cost more to fix and may cause an injury.

"Our mission is to support students from BU and AUB throughout their time at university with all their cycling needs and to offer a fully serviced bike (most below £100) which comes with our promise guarantee, thus promoting safer cycling and also saving money in the longer run..”

Bikes that have been recycled by Hope 2 Cycle will also be available to buy during the service which is due to take place on April 25 in the Poole House Courtyard, Talbot Campus.
