A RENEWED appeal has gone out to catch the crossbow-wielding thug who attacked two swans, with the reward being increased yet again.

Police are still searching for the attacker, who killed one swan and injured her mate at Throop Mill in Bournemouth at around 6pm on Wednesday, March 27.

The reward for information leading to the successful prosecution of the offender has been increased several times and now stands at £700. The money has been pledged by kind-hearted residents and businesses, who are keen to see the perpetrator brought to justice.

Margaret Neville, who has given money towards the reward fund, said: “Throop Mill is very dear to my heart and I’m appalled by the cruelty of the action.”

Police have issued a description of the man as tall, in his late 40s and with a tanned, weathered face and dark hair.

He was wearing a dark jacket with red piping and matching baseball cap and appeared to be holding a black and red crossbow.
