WAREHAM Town Museum opens its doors for the start of its summer season on Good Friday.

The museum, that is featuring a display on Holton Heath’s cordite factory, opens 10am-4pm from March 29.

Museum committee member John Hale said: “During the winter season when the museum was closed there have been many improvements and additions made to the already extensive display areas.

“ These include one area set aside to show artefacts, display boards and a video which tells the story of the Royal Naval cordite factory, a very important part of local history from World War One until the mid 1950s when it closed.”

The museum is situated by the tow hall in Wareham town centre.

Admission free.
