THE short lives of two “inspirational” young brothers, who died within two days of each other, will be celebrated at their funeral next Wednesday.

The funeral of three-year-old Harry Churchill and his 21-month-old brother Cody will be held at St Aldhelm’s Church in Branksome at 10.30am.

Both boys suffered from a debilitating genetic skin condition and were known as butterfly children, because their fragile skin would blister at the slightest touch.

Harry passed away at Julia’s House on March 13 and just two days later Cody also succumbed to a serious infection.

AFC Bournemouth director and close friend of the family Adam Murry said the boys’ devoted parents Steph and Chris were trying to stay strong.

“They are taking each day as it comes I suppose and are trying to keep their spirits up,” he said.

“They want the funeral to be upbeat as opposed to very depressing. They want it to be a celebration, not a morbid funeral.”

The boys will also be remembered with a minute’s applause before the Cherries home match at the Goldsands Stadium this Saturday.

Meanwhile, an appeal set up to help raise money towards funeral costs has received donations from across the globe.

Sue Altinkeser who organised the appeal via Facebook said: “The appeal has gone amazing, with donations from around the world, including Australia, United States and Europe.

“It has raised just over £3,000 but I would like it to reach £4,000 so the family do not need to worry when the time comes for a headstone. As you can imagine the cost, I want to take any burden away from the family that I can.”

Anyone who would like to donate can give via paypal to . The family has also requested donations to Julia’s House, described as Harry’s favourite place.

A message on Facebook states: “On behalf of the whole family, I would like to thank everyone for being here to support them at this terribly sad time.

“A huge thank you goes to the funeral directors for everything they are doing for the boys to ensure they are laid to sleep peacefully.

“And thank you from the bottom of my heart to each person who has donated, shared this page and/or left the most touching comments I have ever read for Steph, Chris, Harry, Cody and the family.

“These boys sure were loved by all...”
