BOURNEMOUTH photographer Andy Scaysbrook is hoping that an interactive version of his book will help create a new level of awareness of ovarian cancer.

Andy who lost his own mother to the disease 10 years ago, created Holding onto Hope, a collection of photos of celebrities holding an image of somebody close to them who has had ovarian cancer.

He said: “If one thing came across from all of the shoots it was that lack of awareness of ovarian cancer is probably its biggest setback.”

Ovarian cancer charity Ovacome is selling interactive versions of the book at a discounted price of 99p during March (normal price £2.49).

Louise Bayne, Ovacome’s chief executive, said: “It is about sharing experiences, helping each other along and coming together to spread the word that with awareness we really can stop ovarian cancer in its tracks.”

Ovacome’s patron and actress Jenny Agutter, right, TV presenters Carol Vorderman and James May and Tara Palmer-Tomkinson are among those featured in the 30-page book.
