BOURNEMOUTH council has promised to remove builders’ waste that is causing a problem for residents in West Howe.

Michael Warwick, from Turbary Park Avenue, said he contacted the council about the waste on a service road behind where he lives.

He said it was obstructing and blocking a right of way.

Mr Warwick said: “It’s causing problems because if somebody got hurt up there the emergency services probably couldn’t get through.

“A lot of children walk down there on their way to school as well.”

Seamus Doran, tenancy service manager at the council, said: “I can confirm that we have received a letter from Mr Warwick on February 27, in which he made us aware of the issue of builders’ waste and other waste being left on a council housing service road on Turbary Park Avenue.

“We are in the process of arranging for the waste to be collected and discussions are underway to find more permanent solutions to environmental crime in this area.”
